Scott Stokes lives and breathes horses. His teaching style makes learning from the horse fun, safe, and easy to understand. Scott knows what to do not only with the horse, but he knows how to help the rider as well. Scott's experience and knowledge will help any level of rider or horse no matter what your goals are. I thank Scott for all
of his help to me, and would recommend him, among all
the other top horseman I've had the privilege to ride with and learn from.

I just wanted to take a second and thank you for your
help over the last several months. Your clinics have been
set up in a way that no matter where you are with your
horse, there is always the room to move to the next
level. In actuality, what I have learned the most is not
about training my horse, rather it is the way that I train
myself to offer something good to my horse. Being able to
recognize the subtleness of a "give" and offering a
"release" sometimes needs to be seen through the eyes
of another person like yourself.
There are a lot of folks with a packaged plan as to how
best to get along with your horse. Your clinics give instant
feedback on your progress, and what steps you need to
follow to reach your goal. We all have a different vision
for what kind of a horseman we want to be, you have
helped me get going in the right direction.
Regarding riding my horse for a month last summer, that too was a great experience. My biggest fear was that I would spend the money, and after one month would not be able to see a difference in my horse. To my great surprise, he was softer, had a better attitude, and generally would move off my leg with so much less effort. It was a great investment.
At the end of the day, all we want is to be more confident, and you have helped me get there. Thanks again.

Scott Stokes has started and rode several colts for my wife and myself. All the horses came back with a nice handle put on them. Scott has instructed several clinics here at my farm and everyone had a great time and benefited greatly from his group and individual instruction. Scott's clinics will motivate and inspire anyone to take their horsemanship or roping skills to a higher level.

Scott's honesty, ability to communicate an idea, and hardwork will help anyone to have a better deal with their horse. Scott can help you to be more than just a horse owner, he will help you to become a horseman.

"...when Scott Stokes and I met about 10 years ago and I discovered that he, like myself, was on an unending quest for knowledge with regards to improving our understanding and working with horses in a way that the horse can easily comprehend. It was the begining of a great friendship and journey that continues today.
I must say that if a person asked me who to recommend to help them with their horse or horses, Scott's name would be at the top of the list. He is the type of person that the horse needs to help them understand and respond to the human with a willingness that is achieved only with extreme skill and patience. Scott's ability to read and feel the horse is excellent.
I know that Scott is now giving clinics to pass on his skills to others that want to better themselves in all realms of horsemanship. No matter what their discipline, Scott will be able to give people something that money can't buy! I have had the honor of riding with some of the best horsemen in the country and would not hesitate to put Scott amongst them."

"The amount of progress my horse made in just three
days was nothing short of amazing. She went from spinning around, terrified of the cows, to facing up and tracking them. Those three days were absolutely the
most fun I've had with any horse."

Dear Scott,
I thoroughly enjoyed your ranch roping clinic in Forsyth.
I was pleasantly surprised at how much time you spent
with me individually. Your quiet, gentle manner put me
at ease since I knew next to nothing about ranch roping
and didn't know what to expect out of my horse.
I look forward to attending one of your horsemanship
clinics and am planning to host one as well. Thank you!

Dear Scott,
I am writing to say thank you and to tell you how pleased I am with the progress I have made with my horsemanship skills.
First, It's been almost a year that I have been riding with you, and I have learned more in the past year of clinics with you, than I have in all the years I rode as a child and adult put together.
When I found the problems I was having with my horse were beyond my capabilities, I immediately thought of you to help. I had audited one of your clinics earlier in that year, and was impressed with what I had seen. I've come from primarily "English" riding backfround, and I knew there had to be a better way other than draw reins, and endless hours of useless lunging.

You took my horse for 60 days (give or take a few days)
and he came back to me a softer, more responsive pony. But, most importantly, you encouraged me to ride him with you present in order to develop a better understanding of what I needed to do to maintain him. This time was the most valuable and amazing time I've spent riding my horse. It was then, that I realized that "I" had the learning to do, and my horse knew what to do. I had to learn the correct way to ask, find that "feel", and learn to release when my pony gave what I was asking for.
I can't thank you enough for the time in your clinics. I
have found you to have immense amounts of patience
for helping me understand and improve my
horsemanship skills. You do such a great job of
explaining and demonstrating these skills and showed
the willingness to help me get it right.
I know it is a long journey to really get to the point of being the horseman that I want to be. But, I am
confident that with your continued guidance, I'm on the right path. I really do appreciate what you have done!
Sincerely,
Wendy Goldstone

Hi Scott and Jo!,
I love your new web site! I saw the testimonials and I
wanted you to have mine. I cannot tell you what a
wonderful experience it was participating in your clinic
last August. It truly was an engaging and educational
experience. I feel that my horse, Sassy, and I have made
significant steps during our time at your clinic. I so look
forward to your next clinic this September, and I wanted
to tell you thank you for helping my horse and I establish
the building blocks for what will be a life long relationship.
See you soon!
Respectfully,

Scott and Jo came to our barn in 2007 and not only honored the vaquero style of horsemanship but out
did any of our expectations as a teacher. Scott was focused, knowledgeable, hardworking, patient, kind
and humble. Scott was able to convey his ideas in
a way that allowed people to communicate the ideas
and concepts he presented to their own horses, which
is truly a unique gift to the people who study with him. Scott displayed natural patience and good timing,
knowing when to step in and when to let someone
work at it for a while. His calm and effective manner as
a teacher was a great example of what we all aspire to become for our horses. We feel blessed to know Scott, more than words can express, for sure.
